In the spring of 2010 the Board of Education decided to merge the East and West High School athletics programs to form a unified athletic program, the Corning Hawks. This was not the first time the school district was forced to merge facilities and athletic programs, in the 1950s the district passed a comprehensive facility bond act that turned Corning Free Academy, Northside Blodgett Jr. Sr. High School, and Painted Post Jr - Sr. High School into two high schools, Corning East Trojans and Corning West Vikings. When the teams were merged together in 2010 Tim Hughes was selected as the first Varsity Football coach for the combined program.  In 2014 we opened the new Corning Painted Post High School and started a new legacy united in one building, Corning - Painted Post High School.
